Featured Song: Hari ng Tondo

"Hari ng Tondo" (Tondo's King)  is the official theme song of the the movie: "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story". Starring Jorge Estregan as   Asiong Salonga  and Carla Abellana as Fidela. Along with its box office record and gathered awards in the manila film fest 2011, it won the category Movie Original Theme song of the year.

It is rap song by the infamous rapper Gloc9 and Denise Barbacena a contestant on GMA reality show's Protégé", which, Gloc9 is mentoring.

So far this is my gloc9's favorite song. I knew Gloc9's poetic sentiments on his artworks, but I never expected that It would get even better.

Take a glimpse of the song's intro. Even without knowing its music, certainly you will like its quality stanzas along with its rhyme.

"kahit sa patalim kumapit isang tuka isang
kahig ang mga kamay na bahid ng galit
kasama sa buhay na minana isang maling
akala na ang taliwas kung minsan ay tama..."

 See?! A modern day poet.It makes me shudder.

To me, It also depicts our very human nature.Sometimes due to unbearable burden that we encounter and when there seems no other options that we can run into, we sought refuge by doing things that we know are wrong.Then we tend to avoid our guilt by justifying our actions to serve our means."Kapit sa Patalim" as we Pinoys idiomatically term such situation.

Although this scenario mostly involves "money" problems. Being a "Kapit sa Patalim" can also be caused by different factors. Like cheating on examinations to attain high grades, abandoning all our logic nor reason when I comes to love, and so on.
